Get involved in one of the fastest growing industries in the country!
The School of Energy Lease Operator program is designed to provide technically oriented students with the basic knowledge and skills of oil and gas production processes and equipment operations required to efficiently and safely monitor, troubleshoot, and operate wells. Students can earn a Certificate or an AAS Degree.
Classroom training, hands-on experience with surface equipment, and on-the-job training (OJT) with local industry ensure that every student grasps the theory and practice of production operations, including artificial lift.

Hands-on Training
At the School of Energy campus, students get hands-on training on the machinery and surface equipment used in the field. Our yard has a complete well site including a pumping unit, separator, compressor skid, dehydration unit, and meter run.

Computer Simulation: 3D Animation
In partnership with BP America, the School of Energy has developed a series of interactive animations that demonstrate downhole operations and internal workings of surface equipment, from the wellhead to the sales point. For example, using the interactive simulations, students will be able to assemble and disassemble a virtual wellhead, or see the results of applying too much pressure to a virtual separator.
