The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic program (MECH) is designed to prepare students for positions as maintenance mechanics, maintenance technicians, and operations technicians of power generation, mining, natural gas, refinery, semiconductor, photochemical, and pharmaceutical processes.

With more than $1.5 million worth of process and maintenance equipment, the program gives students excellent hands-on experience in:

  • pump rebuilding
  • pump alignment
  • fabrication
  • hydraulics
  • vibration analysis
  • rigging
  • measurement tools
  • piping systems
  • lubrication
  • mechanical drives
  • welding
 

Prerequisites

Students must have satisfactorily completed the first and second semester of the Industrial Process Operator Program (IPOP).
