What you need to do and know

DO THIS ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES

Log into the course page and begin the orientation activities.  There is no f2f orientation.

DO THIS BY THE END OF THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES

Complete the course orientation activities and anything else on the course calendar.

FOUR THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE TAKING THIS CLASS

FIRST, completing the orientation activities will make your life easier throughout the semester.  Please do all of them.  SECOND, this is a schedule-based course (not self-paced) that requires frequent and rigorous reading and writing assignments (it’s not “easier” than a face to face course).  THIRD, computer-savvy students who are also familiar with keyboarding do best in this class.  If you are unsure of yourself on the computer, or if you are a typist who “pecks” her way through assignments, you might want to reconsider whether or not you are suited for this class.  FOURTH, consider carefully whether or not you are suited for online learning—not everyone is.  Students with self-discipline and high levels of motivation do best with online learning.

Lots of luck, and I’ll see you online!!
